Woodridge, IL — Dober has been named to the Crain's Chicago Business "Best Places to Work" in Chicago list for 2025.
Crain’s partners with Workforce Research Group, an independent firm that manages employee engagement surveys, to conduct the research and provide a ranked list. The rankings are based on a calculation that involves the weighting of an employee survey (80%) and an employer questionnaire (20%).
“We’ve been trying to make the Crain's best places list for a few years," Dober CEO Chris Dobrez said. "We have used the survey results to target areas we need to improve our employees experience. This prestigious list is difficult to obtain as a manufacturing company. Many of the companies tend to be services or software businesses.
"We work hard to make sure our manufacturing production team members enjoy their careers and our work environment as much as our office, lab and field-based team members. We’re proud to have a workplace that is appreciated and valued by all our employees. For Dober, 'Culture is Strategy.'"
The recognition follows similar awards in recent years for Dober. In 2024, for the second year in a row, Dober Chemical Corp. was named to the Best Companies Group “Best Places to Work in Manufacturing” list.
"Being named one of Chicago’s Best Places to Work is a true celebration of our people and our culture," said Kortney Overzet, vice president of people development and culture. "Our culture isn’t just words on paper — it’s the way we lift each other up in tough times, spark bold new ideas, and trust one another to achieve great things. Living our values — from amazing our customers to having the courage to create, doing the right thing, and promoting team success — is what makes this recognition possible. This award belongs to every team member who brings our culture to life each day."
In addition, Dober last year was named to the Chicago Sun-Times list for “Chicago’s Best Workplaces.”
